Camryn E. Mentzer, Director
Camryn Mentzer started dancing at the age of four at Ann’s Studio of The Dance in Bucks County, PA. She is an alumna of Temple University, where she received a BFA in Dance and a Minor in General Business Studies. Before Temple, she trained at Seton Hill University and Spring Mill Dance Academy and participated in intensives at Philadelphia Dance Theatre.
Mentzer is trained in ballet, pointe, modern, contemporary, jazz, improvisation, tap, Umfundalai, and Neo-Traditional West African. She especially enjoys modern, contemporary, and ballet. Some distinguished dancers she has studied under are Josephine Heard Deans, Marie Brown, Jillian Harris, Laura Katz, Kun Yang Lin, Blythe Smith, and many more. Throughout her time at Temple, she performed in various Temple concerts through faculty and student works.
Besides performing, Mentzer has been teaching various styles of dance for the past eight years. She has taught ballet, jazz, modern, contemporary, pointe, mommy and me classes, and tap at various dance studios in the Bucks County area. Choreography is something she is very interested in, as well as performing and teaching. Mentzer creates movement that connects the mind and body as well as telling a story through feelings. She has had the chance to choreograph dance works mainly in the style contemporary at Temple University and a studio in Bucks County.
Caroline Cacchio, Instructor
With over 9 years of experience in the dance education field, Caroline is a passionate and dedicated dance instructor in various dance styles including ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, musical theater, acro dance and cheer dance. She began her dance journey at the age of 3 and hasn't looked back since!
As an instructor, Caroline is committed to fostering a supportive and inspiring environment for all students. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes technical proficiency, artistic expression, and the importance of discipline and dedication. She believes that dance is a powerful form of self-expression and personal growth, and strives to instill these values in her students.
Caroline has choreographed numerous performances for local and regional competitions, earning accolades for her innovative and captivating routines. She also regularly attends workshops and conventions to stay updated with the latest trends and techniques in the dance world.
Outside of teaching dance, Caroline is a high school teacher at Overbrook School for the Blind in West Philadelphia. Caroline also has a degree in special education and has experience with teaching dance to students with special needs. Work includes working with the now Pennsylvania Ballet in an inclusive tap experience with her students. Caroline is excited to meet all her new students and bring the joy of dance to others!
Karley Pedrick, Instructor
Karley Pedrick, a seasoned dancer whose journey in the world of dance began at age 3. With a rich background encompassing ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, hip hop, and contemporary, Karley has honed a versatile skill set that shines through her performances. Growing up training at Ann’s Studio of the Dance and Spring Mill Dance Academy, Karley thrived in the competitive dance scene.
Karley’s passion for dance led her to explore opportunities beyond her hometown studios, attending prestigious master classes at the Joffrey Ballet School. Transitioning to higher education, Karley continued to pursue her love for dance at Kutztown University, where she became an integral member of the Kutztown Dance Team.
Not only did Karley perform at college football and basketball games, but she also assumed the role of President, steering the team to remarkable achievements, including captivating performances at venues like the 76ers and Reading Royals.
Beyond the spotlight, Karley channels her creativity into choreographing captivating hip hop and contemporary routines, showcasing their artistic vision and rhythmic prowess. Off the dance floor, Karley serves as a dedicated Teacher for the Blind and Visually Impaired at Overbrook School for the Blind, imparting knowledge and guidance as a Postsecondary and Transition teacher.
With an unwavering dedication to both dance and education, Karley embodies the essence of passion, talent, and leadership in every facet of her life. As a dance choreographer, Karley will continue to push boundaries, blending innovation with tradition to create unique performances that transcend the ordinary. With each step, she is excited to create dances where movement tells stories, emotions are palpable, and enrich the spirit of dance.
